Lunch by the river
When Archie went off with Elizabeth today, we decided to go for a wee drive, as it was such a nice day. We went to Haddington - haven’t been there for ages, and had lunch at the Waterside Bistro.
It was busy, but we got a seat outside in the sun, and had a splendid lunch. The pub must be under new management - we have been there and it’s been closed/shut. It does tend to flood quite regularly. The menu was excellent.
Despite the long and varied menu, we both just had a (very generous) half portion of fish and chips (Extra 1) The desserts were irresistible too. And huge! (Extra 2)
Back home in time for Archie’s arrival after a huge long walk. We watched a bit more of the Royal coverage and programmes about the Queen through the ages. I wonder if the Royals sit down to watch all this of an evening. Why wouldn’t they? She was their dear mum, granny and great-granny, and no family can have as much footage of a dear departed relative than them.
