The corn is as high as an elephant’s eye

Masses of feed corn and sweetcorn around here which gives the fields a hazy gauzy feeling and seeing the sun rise on the Downs was a good start to the day.  It was the only time I got out today with a lot of calls and some time watching the Edinburgh TV Festival online.  All very odd as I watched a panel, knowing that one of my friends was actually in London. I am not sure anyone was actually in Edinburgh.

Vik’s friend and editor Emma and her son Louis have come to stay for a couple of days and they were rewarded with some lovely sun and spent the afternoon sitting in the garden and chatting.  I had a call late with LA but joined them for a lovely dinner and looked at Louis’s drawings and paintings in his sketchbook.
