Belated happy birthday

It was wet this morning so #3 daughter took the children to Cragside - their first visit into the house instead of going to the adventure playground. #2 and family had fun at Paxton where it had not been wet.

I made scones and cake for the family get together. Mr C’s brother in law came down from the Borders with his daughter and one granddaughter. His other daughter and her 2 boys came up from Yorkshire. With our lot we numbered 15. The men took the children into the woods but soon lost them. Thomas and James forged ahead to get to the climbing rock when they’d found a cave and they all played happily for a while, though Robbie (14) and Rosie (13) got bored after a while. James (6) and Callum (10) raced to get back first for cake. My niece Jen was born 12 days after #3 daughter so I made them a cake. The children sang and blew out the candles. (I did not have 44).

We’ve had a great weekend but I’m ready for a day to myself tomorrow.
