Portmeirion Re-visited

After seeing our 'staycation' photos, Lorraine said she would like to go to Abersoch and Portmeirion, and as they're both within about 40 minutes of each other we decided to do them on the same day and went today.  We left home about 9.15am and went to Abersoch first as I knew it would get busy.

We parked up in the town centre, went down to the beach and walked along the beach back into town, had a look round the shop, making a few purchases and then went for lunch at a lovely cafe bar called Zinc.  After lunch we drove to Portmeirion and had timed it well as we got there about 3.30pm by which time, a lot of people were leaving so it wasn't too busy. The weather was perfect and the forecasted rain didn't appear so we had a really lovely day, they all loved both places so it was a good decision.

We picked up a chippy tea on the way home and then had a lovely night in the conservatory and I did a few finishing touches to the table that we've been painting - it's looking good!

I had some sad news today from my friend Chloe who also had breast cancer, and who was told late last year that she had lung cancer, which then turned out to be the breast cancer which had returned.  She had her results of her latest scan today and they've told her that she now has 5 tumours in her lungs, also in her liver, her left hip bone and her right one, in her T9 vertebrae and she has 2 enlarged lymph nodes typical of cancer at the base of her trachea!   I feel so very, very sorry for her, it's so sad!
