A Stroll on the Pier
I finished work at 1pm and after a quick bite to eat I caught the bus into Brighton as a few of us were meeting for drinks on Amanda’s terrace to celebrate her birthday.
It’s the first time I’ve been on a bus since lockdown so I chose to catch our local bus that only runs every hour and is very slow as it goes all around the houses - for this reason it’s a very quiet bus and I was the only passenger for quite a while, and at the most there were 4 of us.
I decided to get off near the Palace Pier and as it wasn’t too busy I went for a stroll. They’re operating a one way system which is good and it felt great to be back, the last time was probably in February for the murmuration. I also had a couple of errands to do in town while I was there, but again everywhere was quiet.
I got to Amanda’s just after 3pm and Marianna, Louise and Colette came too and we spent a lovely afternoon in her roof terrace drinking Prosecco and she’d done everyone individual bowls of olives, hummus and crisps.
Alan picked me up at 7.30pm, but I have to say that after Prosecco in the sun I was very sleepy, so had an early night!
