Magnificicent Cedar
Went for a walk along a woodland trail at Loch Key, just outside Boyle, County Roscommon, this morning and came across this amazing Cedar tree. To get an idea of the scale look for the two figures on the path to the left. You can walk under the tree to find yourself in a green woodland cave of gnarled tree trunks, like something out of Lord of the Rings (see extra photo, the trunks are all developed from shoots of one tree). It is clearly very old, I was told 500 years.
