Cloutie Well

Back in the Burren, Co. Clare again for a few days. Very grey day today with low misty cloud., making it  hard to tell where the sky stopped and the grey limestone began. Went for a walk near Mullagh More, a  6km loop at Loch Avalla Farm. It's a lovely little walk through hazel scrub and over limestone pavements. There is a spring and a "Holy Well" at the start of the walk, where people hang ribbons and bits of cloth to lend wings to  their prayers in the wind, and some kind person has even left some glass mugs so you can take a drink in the clear fresh water.
