Path By The Pond

We are blessed with a beautiful 240-acre park that is full of wildlife and provides endless photo opportunities basically right in the middle of Bellingham.  The northern entrance is right across the street from where I live so I chose to go there on my first outing since my back treatment.  I had a much better time of walking than I've had in a long time which was wonderful.

I was also on a hunt for red-winged blackbirds.  They hang out at Scudder's Pond which is behind the bushes to the right in the picture.  I'm trying to get a picture that's half as good as those posted by Blipper KevinV in Canada.  I hear them all day long and walking the path there was a cacophony of birdsong which was delightful.  Unfortunately, the brush has grown so thick that the pond is barely visible but I so enjoyed the songs that it hardly mattered that I couldn't see anything.  I also now know that walking on gravel and looking up is not the wisest thing to do for somebody with balance issues.  Nonetheless, it was a delightful outing and very enjoyable.
