Underley Farm regret. And a curry!

We lived on Underley Farm from 1992 to 1997. Charlie was nearly one when we moved in and my other three daughters from my first marriage - Hannah, Izzy, and Milly - were all born while we lived there, in Home Farmhouse. It was a hectic time!

This ring of trees is in one of the fields on the farm and I used to think how nice it would be to sit beneath the branches, with a good book and a flask of soup. Unsurprisingly, though, I never did find the time.

Dan and I walked past the field today on a walk, taking a long way 'round to the curry house in Kirkby Lonsdale, which, like most of the rest of the UK's pubs and restaurants, re-opened, today.

Abi met us there and we had an excellent meal: good food and splendid company. And although it might be a while yet before things completely return to normal, this felt like a very welcome step in the right direction.
