Diary of an Edinburgher

Speedy

Well, our four legged neighbour was too busy to meet us today. Or at least his mum (who works from home) was. Aiming for Friday now.

There was quite a wee stiff breeze today, but sunny. My cousin from Glasgow came to visit and we sat outside, of course. Actually, he was coming to visit Uncle A, as he hasn’t been for many months during this last lockdown.

JR had two fitness sessions (she’s getting VERY excited about being able to actually GO to the gym from Monday) and when she’d finished her midday session, we took a wee drive to a place I’ve been meaning to go to for ages. Saughton Park. It’s been a community project, and they’ve done up a whole area in flowers, hedges, herb gardens, walled gardens and a new cafe area. They even have a fancy bandstand. Lots of seating all around, and plenty of people out enjoying the sun - you could always find a place out of the breeze.

We had a dander round, Archie had a run about on the playing fields. Unfortunatley, he was sick on the way there. In fact, this was the speediest vomit ever - I blame Edinburgh’s terrible potholed roads. He took me by surprise and I didn’t get his head shoved in the poo bag quickly enough. Fortunately he missed my leg...

We’ve booked a few days away next month in one of our favourite places. How exciting!
