Diary of an Edinburgher

Sneaky lick!

Today it was HOT! I spent all morning in the front garden, listening to the radio and podcasts on my ear pods. Hazel popped in for a coffee, and JR abandoned her morning fitness session to join us.

Archie and I then migrated to the back garden, while JR went to the garden centre.

Later on, we went for a walk. I was lured out with the promise of an ice cream. It was just lovely sitting in the Grassmarket looking at the castle, and enjoying the sunshine. Quite a bit of activity at some of the pubs, preparing for opening next week. Check out the fabulous floral installation on Cold Town House (Extra 1). The owner chap said that the rooftop bar is booked up for the next four months! JR had a peanut/ coconut/ chilli ice cream, while I stuck to my favourite - milk (not vanilla).  Boring, I know. Archie had a teensy bit of both flavours, but here he’s trying to have a swift sneaky lick.

We then walked back through the Meadows. There was a wee jazz band combo playing/practising  and they were very good (Extra2). The blossom is slowly emerging... (8,357 steps)

We were back home just in time to have a brief visit from our ex-neighbour before he left. He’d been here to pick up some of his stuff in his old flat. He’s selling up and heading for the hills.

Another lovely day of sunshine promised for tomorrow. And we get our second jag. And we meet our new four legged neighbour at last. What an exciting life we lead.
