Trout country

Thank you so much for all your kind messages about Merlin. He has been brighter again today, so hopefully that will continue and he will be back to his cheeky self soon.

The colder duller weather today has felt quite harsh after the spring-like weather of the weekend. I went for a walk at lunchtime wrapped up with a hat, gloves and two coats on! I tried a different loop today, this time passing along one of the small streams which runs towards the sea from the downs. The water gets filtered clean by the chalk and so the water is very clear. At the weekend we spotted several good sized trout in this stream. They were swimming against the current and looked to be feeding.

This evening I returned to my online yoga class after a break of several months. It felt good to be back.
