Weaving in wood

We had a sharp frost over night and the morning was bright and sunny, so we took a longer dog walk than usual, along the back lane to Emsworth, along the quayside and retraced our steps home. By the time we arrived home we were well and truly ready for our bowls of leek and potato soup and a sit down.

This photo shows an area of wet ground next to the village stream where a man has been pruning the trees and creating some wooden fences and drainage ditches. It looks hard but rewarding work.
