Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Another cold dreich day. This is getting monotonous. Archie’s vet student decided not to come this morning, thankfully.

A few household chores done. JR has made some vege curry for tea, using up some of the large lot of sweet potatoes we got on our click and collect supermarket order.

We were expecting a chap to come and replace our shower valve, which doesn’t get hot enough (NOT good in the winter). He didn’t arrive, but it gave me an excuse to stay in while the others went out for a cold dreich walk. He’s coming tomorrow now.

I browsed YouTube again, and watched a few videos on Norway. One was a film of the whole Hurtigruten trip from Bergen, which we did a couple of years ago, and we’d like to go again. I kept choosing other videos about Norway, until JR begged for ‘something else’ - ‘A new life in the Sun’ it was then...

Here’s Archie, peering round the kitchen door, which he should be able to get through, or to push it a bit like any normal animal, but he doesn’t. He just stands there and waits for it to be opened. He’s nearly seven years old, and he’s a very slow learner.
