Diary of an Edinburgher

Broken!

JR had a day off the gym - I think she’s overdoing it a bit, especially with BodyStreet added in. Instead, she had a better offer - a lie in, tea & toast in bed, and then came to the Red Box with Mary from round the corner, where we had coffee and scones.

Archie was SO good, sat without complaint for an hour or so, but when we got to put our coats on, he went silly - jumping around, crying and nipping our legs and causing a bit of a (quite amusing) scene.

JR took Archie out again in the afternoon, after doing lots of tasks in the house. I eventually busied myself cleaning the coffee machine and running clean water through it several times (we don’t need to de-scale as we have very soft water). It was then that I noticed just how much water (actually, coffee) pours straight through and into the spill tray. LOTS! No wonder we end up with half a cup!

I eventually found a number to ring to ask about fixing it. Yes, if it’s still in warranty it’s free, otherwise £79. I knew it was probably well out of warranty, as we’ve had it for ages. But I couldn’t find the actual docket. But they’re sending me Nespresso capsules, hinting that perhaps because I use a cheaper version, that could be the problem.

However, when JR came home, she found the receipt, and yes! It’s still within the three year warranty. Yay!

I did the 10 minute HIIT bike session this morning, but that was all. When I do a big walk I really pay for it in the evening, so I had a rest today.

Our First Minister announced that she’s had the bright idea of - wait for it - sawing the bottoms off classroom doors to improve the air circulation. Only costing £300,000. I thought at first it was an April fool…

Tonight I cooked pork loin with crushed potatoes, tender stem broccoli and a peppercorn sauce. Delicious!
