Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

An early fitness session for JR - it was yoga, which she didn’t like. In fact, she left the zoom group all still meditating at the end and came to have her breakfast instead.

I did the bike. 50 minutes of it, though admittedly quite relaxed pedalling... I had the excellent idea of watching Spiral from Series 1, it having just ended with Series 8. Turns out, I haven’t seen the first one. It’s like being with old friends - you get to know the characters so well, but they all look SO young! Though there are some gruesome special effects, which I didn’t want to see, so the subtitles had to be read through my fingers.

Becky and Daniel came to take Archie out, it was a sunny morning. But they didn’t go to the Meadows, it being a bit of a quagmire after two days of rain. In fact, he came home and didn’t need a bath - apparently the Links were still crisp and frozen - just a vigorous brushing (which he probably hates even more).

JR has been lusting after these Ugg boots/slippers for AGES. She’s prone to cold extremities, and her slippers are past their best.  So last night she ordered them, click and collect from Waitrose, and today she picked them up. We love online shopping.

But we’re falling out of love with click and collect supermarket shopping. After getting ONE sweet potato, about the size of an apple, last time (instead of what she thought was one BAG) this time she ordered FOUR. She got four sweet potatoes, each about the size of a piglet! I think the people who collect the online shopping lists must be having a wee laugh to themselves...

It was such a nice afternoon we went out for a dander round our ‘hood. JR had put on her newly acquired boots/slippers, and so she wanted to try them outside. She may never take them off.

Spent the rest of the afternoon reading the Sunday papers. There’s SO MUCH NEWS!
