A Mixed Bag
A day of many and varied parts!
Woken by an unwell dog during the night. Thankfully not very unwell and she seems fine now but a 330am call out is taking it's toll on me! Jamie's day started abruptly due to a phone call. We took a while to get warmed up for the day but the afternoon was well filled and positive. After dropping some cakes in at the health centre, he took a friend's dog for a run using his power trike while I walked Meg (who is too headstrong for him if we meet another dog) and we met part way and walked together for a while. We also spent some time on the phone organising replacement clamps for the trike to make it easier for Jamie to use. Mark at Team Hybrid was very helpful and posted the parts out this afternoon. Jamie's looking forward to being able to get out more which is excellent. He's now cooking barbecue Jack Fruit for our tea - a new venture for us ..... (but, schhh, don't tell everyone but there are also sausages in the oven as back-up!)
A couple of milder days has seen a few more flowers appear in the raised sand bed out front and in the troughs, this Iris histrio has been a very good doer for me in Norfolk, hopefully it will do the same in Wales although I suspect the wetter summers may mean it's better in a pot which can be kept dry. Time will tell. Taller and more delicately marked than most of the commonly grown Iris reticulata forms, it's a bit special.
