Skating over the ice to reach the open water

These beautiful wintry days can't last much longer but while the lochs and ponds are still frozen I will continue to enjoy watching the birds on the ice.

It was quite warm in the sun this morning but once the fiery ball disappears the temperature drops very quickly and it's once more bitterly cold outside.
