When she got there the cupboard was bare!

The walkers' biggest nightmare today ..... black ice and plenty of it. The trouble was that the paths were damp so the ice was well hidden. I walked on the frozen grass as much as possible and having my pole and taking care kept me safe from a fall.

I think I arrived at the field with the five cows just before the morning feed was due. The cows had gathered in the very muddy corner near the gate while they waited patiently for the hay to be delivered.

By the time I was on my way back to the car the cows, having been fed, had moved to the middle of the field where the conditions weren't quite so bad.
