Gardening and other successes
Took Archie out this morning round the block, and I must have been a bit earlier than usual, because and we met an awful lot of Harry Potter lookalikes before I realised what was happening.
Got a lot done today too! We’re on a roll. Once Archie had gone off with Libby, we got stuck into the garden. JR attacked the bamboo with the big clippers, and it attacked her back. I swept up the leaves, and then wrote to the council as my new garden waste sticker, paid for in August, has not arrived yet.
It was sunny and pleasant enough to sit out in the front garden when we finished. Robert came by and was lured in for a coffee, and Libby came back from a really long walk and had a cuppa too. Archie was pleasantly surprised to see Robert.
We still had the TV, getting in the way Big Time, and the girl who wanted it - we were even going to to deliver it - decided this morning she was ‘too busy’. But another chap was in the running, and I spent all day messaging back and forth with him, and eventually we settled and he went off in a taxi with both the TV and the stand. Nice young chap, newly arrived in Edinburgh. And yes, of course he needs a big TV before, say, a sofa... Good!
In the afternoon I went across the Links to take another old iPad to be recycled. I could see it was a lovely evening with long shadows, so we rushed to the shop, me dragging Archie past any nice sniffy trees. I needed to get rid of the iPad first. But we had to wait for ages outside the shop before we could go in, and by the time we came back out to the Links, yes - the sun was behind a cloud. Mind you, most of the trees have lost their leaves by now.
The spare part for the barbecue that I ordered in June has arrived!
