Diary of an Edinburgher

Delivery

We got a lot done today! The car boot was filled with an assortment of books, DVDs, cushions, and other unwanted items. We went to the charity shop we know we can park at (with luck) and got rid of loads!

Back home to await the delivery of a new bed. Not as exciting as an e-bike, but nonetheless we were delighted. We got rid of the day-bed, which pulled out to a double bed, but it wasn’t really ideal for visitors. We found a bed that fits (it’s quite a narrow room). We have yet to get a mattress. Then all we need are some visitors...

I took Archie out for a walk in the morning, before the rain came. I popped in to the hardware shop. Archie DRAGS  me in. Why? Because he gets a treat. Same with the chippie.

Also popped in to the new cafe, which is just doing takeaways. I like to sit down to have my coffee, so haven’t been there much. However, I also bought a couple of wee tarts (‘The filling is like Ferrero Rocher’) which could fit into my duffle coat pocket. We had them in the afternoon, and they were DE-LICIOUS!

Popped in to see Rufus and his mum (in the garden) and then I got a text to say the bed had arrived. The chaps were there for ages assembling it. Now we just have to re-arrange the paintings. Such fun.

Rain in the afternoon, but Pretzel and her mum came for a doorstep chat. Mum has been having quite a hard time of late, with her house sale/purchase being held up and nothing is certain any more. Very very stressful. But Pretzel, bless her, cheers anyone up.

Archie and I saw this painting/print by the rubbish bin. We were tempted to carry it home, but resisted...
