Demolition Time
Today was my last real day at Marine house so it's off to another house....Rancho! Marine now gets moved to my wife who will do the finishing work. There are a couple of odd jobs I need to do, but those can wait till she's there.
I rebuilt a lot of Rancho (with a bit of help) last year, it rented for 2 months but really rented a month too early. Long story, tenants moved in before the place was finished and then got a military duty call to California (iirc) which instantly kicks out the tenancy. Anyway, it's laid dormant since the end of June ready to be worked on again.
Lots of little jobs need sorting, plus a bit of clear thinking - clear thinking=old shed needs to come down. Was going to restore the shed but really don't see the point. It rotten on one half, and it has no real use any more. So I took my framing hammer to bits of it this afternoon and it just fell away. (Nothing structural yet). It's cheaper to bring it down.
Made a list of all the things I need to do at Rancho before it's rent ready - and lets just say it was slightly longer than expected. I'm hoping some of these jobs will be quick and easy....Hoping.
I'll get cracking on the house tomorrow with some repairs to walls. I notice one door knob has been kicked through a wall, which is kinda annoying. Also notice one door doesn't actually fit it's frame as either. Which is odd because the frame looks straight, the gaps round the door are even, so you have to wonder if the door ever fitted.
