Amble To Warkworth
This morning we visited the fishing village of Amble, about 20 miles up the coast, where they hold a Sunday market on the marina next to a group of permanent small craft shops.
We bought some local craft ale and cider and some steak and haggis pies for tonight's dinner, then headed on to Warkworth, which is dominated by the ruined castle in the main photo. The extra shows the castle along the estuary of the River Coquet from Amble marina.
Warkworth is a very picturesque and prosperous looking market town and after a wander round and a crab sandwich in a tea bar, we headed for the local beach. After a grey and rather chilly morning, the weather had improved so we were able to sit and read for a while in the sunshine before taking another stroll along the sands.
