Druridge Bay

After a walk into town along the prom after breakfast, we headed for the country park just up the coast at Druridge Bay.

There is a large freshwater lake just behind the dunes with a path around it which is used for the local park run and is very popular with walkers.

On the other side of the dunes, the beach stretches for 7 miles. As you can see, Northumberland is big on big beaches and bigger skies (and blue skies so far)

We walked a fair bit of the beach, notching up nearly 10 miles and over 20000 steps by the end of the day. We were glad of the hot tub by the time we got back.

A dainty sandpiper (I think) in extras. They deserve to have tired legs by the end of the day, the speed they run at!
