A routine of sorts is developing but more strangeness today - queueing to buy bread at the bakery with each of us standing 2 metres apart, one lady dared to impinge on someone's space and got a sharp warning to step back! The images of empty supermarket shelves were rather disturbing but surely people must be reaching the limit of what they can store and the supermarkets are starting to adjust to a new way of working. I managed to order a box of vegetables and some milk for next week from our organic vegetable farm but nothing else was left available. Today most children went to school for the last time for several months and this evening pubs and restaurants have been told to close. Andy has been trying to clear his Mum's house but found that the charity shops and charity furniture collectors are closing because so many of their staff are in vulnerable groups.
On a happier note(!) one of the bonuses of working from home is that in my lunch break I get the opportunity to walk around the village and take in some of the details in the gardens and houses which I don't usually have time to appreciate. This dragonfly sculpture is one such thing, found in the hedge in the front garden of one of the cottages near the village square. I really like the contrast between the blue of the seasoned copper and the rusty brown of the beech leaves. The kink in the tail, gives it a rather quirky look!
Hoping your day has gone smoothly and that you can relax this evening. All the very best to you.
