Fingers of Ice

I left the birds alone today but I could see them flitting back and forth when I went in the kitchen. They are like me and seem to do most of their eating in the morning.

They even do bird tables on Amazon! I don't know why I'm surprised as they do everything else. I have just been looking at tables, strange feeding contraptions with spikes and hooks for fat balls, nuts and seeds! There are strange dome shaped things called squirrel baffles (with terrible ratings saying that the squirrels weren't baffled for long). One lady said she gave up feeding altogether after the squirrel population went from one to four and the squirrels had eaten their way into the garage where the bird seed was kept causing loads of mess. She finished by saying that the birds now peered mournfully through her sitting room window wondering where all the food was while the squirrels were reigning supreme. I am going to have tormented dreams tonight of sad little birdie faces looking at me! Oh woe is me!

Oh well... Early this morning I looked out and spotted scary looking icy fingers hanging from the roof above my bedroom window. I have visions of being harpooned by them the next time I leave the house (tomorrow morning). Good excuse to miss work, isn't it?! Hmmmm. I suppose you are right.
