From the dark corner.....

Well, I think I really have got it!

Firstly, I have to apologise! I went out at lunchtime with my camera and lost track of time taking loads of photos and experimenting trying out everything possible. Consequently, I didn't get anything blipworthy! I had taken 186 pictures of bits of this and that but nothing decent. I did get a picture of Atif, who sometimes sits opposite me looking quite scary with an eye in the middle of his head looking like a cyclops! I was trying out the fish eye lens effect. He was quite horrified and told me he did not want to be my Blip for the day! Oh well, I am not totally cruel and will only post horror gallery pictures of people I don't have to sit opposite.

Anyway, I am now happy with my new camera. I learned a lot and gained a bit of confidence after sitting in Mell Square on a wet bench for an hour outside WHSmiths taking pictures and doing lots of zooming on unsuspecting victims exiting the shops on the other side of the square. No problem with focusing at all! Using the SX50x for things genuinely far away is definitely more satisfactory than trying to settle on something too close. There are some fantastic features. I am really happy.

The only problem I had going back to the office was my cold, damp a**e from sitting on that chilly, metal bench for so long. I expect I will develop wood rot as a result of my soggy bottom. Oh well, as long as it doesn't cause me too many problems on Saturday when the lovely Edinburgh visitors are here! I'm so excited!!

The picture is of St Alphege's again taken in a hurry as I was late going back. I will make more of an effort in future but everything I took today was just me messing about with settings and getting used to the weight and feel.

Track? This was on the radio when I was in the shower this morning. A bit of the Big O for a change! - You Got It
