The Apples are Ready!

Dear Diary,

I saw a deer checking them out last night.  These are up a bit high for them but if they bump the tree they'll fall at their feet...yum!  I'll get out and pick a few but mostly I leave them for the deer who need to fatten up this fall if they have any hope of making it through our harsh winters.  Matt will be here on Tuesday and he'll pick a pail full for his pigs.  They make great cider too but I haven't done that in awhile.  My goodness, we are having picture perfect days lately!  I just love it!  The first day of September...

Summer lingers, but it is about ending.
It's about how things redden and ripen and burst and come down.
