Stretching Its Wings

Dear Diary,

Momma Turkey brought her young ones to visit again bringing them, this time, right up to the seed bowls in back just a few feet from my door.  Unfortunately, there were only five of them this time.  Young turkeys are so vulnerable to predators.  It looks like two were taken but the remaining five have really grown and were more independent from Mom.  They often flapped their wings and strutted about as if they own the world...adolescent bravado.  Still, it was wonderful to see them and I hope they'll be back soon.
