Changes at the Pond

Dear Diary,

With Autumn coming one expects to see the leaves changing color and dropping but the pond undergoes subtle changes too.  The lily pads brown and so does the grasses.  The Spike Rush begins to bloom in late August.  It is those tiny white dots you can see among the lily pads.  This day, all of it created a lovely texture on the edge of the pond.  Soon, most of it will sink to the bottom to feed next years plants and the fish.  Our beautiful weather continues.
