Nicola at da Show

A breezy day, but mostly sunny and warm all day, and a lovely sunny evening.

I've been working at the Croft House Museum all day.  It was a steady morning, although not busy, and a really quiet afternoon, only two visitors.  Friends over after tea, Tam, Ruth and the bairns.  The boys have been charging about the garden, much to Sammy's delight.  They head back to Wales tomorrow, so it was great to see them again.  Walkies with Sammy, and then off to work in the pub later.

The highlight of anyone's social calendar was on today, the Cunningsburgh Show.  I made it first thing, and again at lunchtime.  With the fine day, it was packed.  The biggest show in Shetland, and draws crowds from the whole isles.  It must also be a social highlight for the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon.  I rudely grabbed her for a quick snap with my nieces, even though I've recently fallen out with the SNP, due to the wind turbine farm going up here!  Putting that aside, I still like her.  L-R - Lottie, Nicola, me and Anna, and dad's first cousin Gordon Thomson on the left.  Taken at the Cunningsburgh Showfield.
