Tents Coming Down

It was torrential rain through the night, finally stopping after 10am.  As the skies cleared, the winds picked up, and a sunny day arrived.

Back to work in the museum today.  There was two cruise ships in Lerwick, but we didn't see many of them, most headed away on bus tours, which seems to be more common now.  A quiet evening at home.  Some walkies with Sammy, and some movies too.  Kinda chilly tonight, so the fire is roaring.

I met mam for lunch at Mackenzie's.  I headed over to the showfield for a look on my way back to work.  The crowds have gone, the animals too, even Nicola Sturgeon left after the show, only the volunteers and committee remain, and now time to pack up, clear up and put it all away for another year.  It's a lot of work and manpower to setup and to dismantle.  I'd really need to become a volunteer, and help out, maybe next year.  Most of the tents came down last night, before the rain and winds, just leaving the poles standing.  Taken at the Cunningsburgh showfield.
