Ham Geo

Today I took  Mr P across all the Churchill barriers, built to keep the German submarines out of Scapa Flow after the sinking of the HMS Royal Oak in October 1939. We went to the southernmost point of South Ronaldsay Island where there are some chambered tombs (3150BC) and a Bronze age burnt mound for making hot water although noone knows why. Extra of Mr P emerging from a  tomb.  Stunning walk along the coastal path. Main pic is Ham Geo, Ham meaning bay or harbour. We have had amazing weather. Dinner with a former work colleague and friend from Kent who has settled up here. I thought I had moved a long way from Kent.
