Wistaston Hall

Wistaston Hall is where I have been staying to deliver our training course this weekend. It's a retreat house which we had booked for the weekend and delegates had come from across the UK. The main building is 17th century and had some remarkable pieces of furniture and architectural features. The two dark wood images, which I think are most likely oak, come from a sideboard which is about eight ft long. The nest, complete with eggs and with a bird on each side of it is the centre of a drawer in the front edge. There are two carved heads, of different people on the uprights of the mirror edge. The white head is on the staircase holding up the edge of the second floor gallery /balcony. He looks like he is wearing a mitre so is most likely a bishop.
The ducks appeared along the edge of the wall outside the dining room today, we don't know why but they were clearly posing!
The course finished after lunch which once again was delicious, I'm going to find it hard cutting down again once I get home. After a debriefing session, I went into Crewe to get my train home, I was early so spent an hour or so wandering the streets dragging my case behind me in order to build up some steps. I'm delighted to have managed my 12500 every day I've been away, 15401 today so 4/4 so far this week.
It's a long time since I've done something like helping to lead this course and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's reminded me how much I enjoy teaching.
