Taking a break from swooping on mice and stuff

I walked up to Reid’s to buy tickets for our Chamber concert tomorrow night. (This view from the terrace where they serve Afternoon tea was going to be today’s blip)

It was gloriously warm and sunny so I strolled on past the Lido, and then decided to catch the number one bus and go for a drink high up on the cliff tops.

Last time I’d been to Aconchego, a super and unusual restaurant, there had been a sparrow hawk hunting mice just outside. I suppose I vaguely hoped he’d be back.

Apparently he’s a regular. I Googled more info and chatted to the waitress. He’s a Eurasian Sparrow hawk. He’s beautiful.

I know he’s cruel. I know my photo would have been better if I’d had my Canon DSLR 7D with my big lens. But you can’t have everything.

And I had a magical morning.
