Deco timepiece

I spent a short time in the shop setting up a longcase on the stand and collecting this circa1960 little timepiece.  The customer had wanted me to fit a quartz battery movement as the tick is loud.  I persuaded him to let me clean it, explaining that I am a essentially a restorer and conserver and I, therefore, dislike destroying something worthy of preservation. I am experimenting lining the inside to the case with some easily removable bubblewrap to quieten the tick. The rest of the day was spent bread making, washing cars and serving cups of tea to Mrs TT who is suffering from woman flu a cold.
