Soup in prospect
After a house call, I spent the morning in the shop covering an absence. On this afternoon's brisk walk I met Tony who cut me a bagful of black kale from his field. I shall be making black kale and stilton soup with a lot of it. He invited to pick what I want when I want and settle up later which is good. I had not suggested this before as I thought others might think that either I was stealing it or that anyone could help themselves. He was not worried saying that he always loses some to theft. What bothers him is professional thieves who come and cut tray loads of vegetables to sell on. I find that sad.
