Breakfast of Champions!
I had an early start this morning for a 0630 Bodystep class which means the alarm goes off at 0500. When I was a smoker, the first thing that I wanted to do in the morning was light up and have my first puff of the day and wouldn't even contemplate eating until at least having 3 smokes and two cups of coffee. Now the very first thing that I want to do is eat something. I usually pop a slice of bread in the toaster and by the time both Ceilidh dog and I are ready, it's sprung. I then munch on this while out for our walk - she usually does her business well into the walk which gives me time to eat up before picking up.
Then it's home for the main event, my porridge. Being an early riser I have a great system in the morning. Before going to bed at night, I set the table for the next morning. I cook my porridge overnight in the slow cooker so that all I need to do is boil the kettle and make a pot of tea. Nutella is one of my favourite additions but I am also partial to chucking in a fun size crunchy - honestly it is really, really, really nice. It adds a lovely flavour and the honeycomb add an interesting texture.
