The wheels on the bus
Today hubbie, Granny, Ethan and I had booked a trip to visit Tulum and Xel-Ha. Ethan was really impressed by the replica old buses we got to go on, complete with fake luggage on the roof. It reminded him of a "wheels on the bus" book we got out the library a few months ago.
It was an early start but both were places we wanted to go to. We only had 2 hours at Tulum and unfortunately half of that time was taken up with queues! I also didn't get to hear much of what the your guide said as Ethan chose that time to have a minor meltdown. To be fair, it was very hot and he wasn't too keen on staying in the one place to listen! He did love seeing all the big lizards wandering around though!
Xel-Ha was a big hit though. We only had half a day there and all agreed we really needed a whole day as we didn't see anywhere as much of it as we would have liked. Ethan loved the kids playground, especially the bit aimed at kids aged 7+ which surprised me! It was a tree top mini assault course which he whizzed round with no help from me ... I just followed him! Also a hit was the lazy river. Granny opted out of this but hubbie and I took him down it on the inflatable tubes which was just amazing. Unfortunately Granny's camera battery chose that moment to die so there were lots of missed photo opportunities. Would love to do it again someday.
