The Clean-up Crew

What happens when you take off to Florida, and leave your carved pumpkins out in front of your house? The clean-up crew takes over...that's what.

I spared you the really disgusting stuff. The exposed white carved pumpkin part that is wilting and turning black. And the insides that you don't clean out well...also turns a grisly black.

The ants were "dueling." 20-30 minutes worth. Reminded me of 2 heavyweight wrestlers that never make a move...always just jockeying for position.

I'm not sure what the "worm" thing is. Is it a slug? A leech? A snail without a shell? I don't know...but...I wouldn't touch it...just in case he could attack and attach...and suck the blood right out of the veins of my finger. Next time I'll go out with a shaker of salt...just in case.

We have a big wooded area behind our house, so I just throw the pumpkins out there...letting both the big and small critters take care of them.

I wish the 2 "worms" would have been on the same pumpkin. It would have been nice to see them fighting like the ants...to be SLUGging it out. I named one Louisville...as in Louisville SLUGger, and the other Robin...as in Robin Leach. "I wish you champagne wishes, and caviar dreams."

I don't miss that show.
