Alice in Wonderland

Alan was off work today to give himself a 4 day weekend and we arranged to meet GadgetKid & G who are over from Dubai, for lunch at a pub near Horsham.  As we were heading that way, Alan said he wanted to go to the National Shooting Centre in Bisley as he wanted to buy a diver's tank which he can fill with air for topping up his air rifle.

Anyway, I sent Sherry a message to say that we'd be coming back through Guildford, if it was easier for them to meet us there, and they suggested an Italian restaurant they've recently found.  We met up just after 1pm and went straight to the restaurant where we spent a lovely couple of hours catching up - the food was excellent too!

We then went to see the castle, took a few selfies and then all too soon it was time to head home.  I'd booked the boys in for a doggy walk, so we knew they'd be ok, but we didn't want to get caught up in the rush hour traffic, particularly at the start of the bank holiday weekend.  But before we left them, they took us to see this statue of Alice and her sister, watching the rabbit heading towards the hole in the ground (see extras), and in the story, Alice followed. We were interested to find out that Lewis Carroll has links with Guildford and is buried there, as he was born in Daresbury, near Warrington where Alan comes from.  In Warrington town centre there's also a statue which I'll have to blip sometime.

Anyway, it's the start of the long weekend, hope you have a good one!
