The Coastguard Cottages
It's been such a beautiful day and was 27 degrees here at the coast, but there was a nice breeze. We decided to walk up Seaford Head to Cuckmere Haven and took a picnic with us which we ate on the beach when we got to Cuckmere.
I've blipped the Seven Sisters cliffs many times, but this is one of my favourite walks, and today there was the added bonus of there being an art trail so there were some sculptures on the beach, and one of the cottages was open, as was the old Cable House. We went to have a look and ended up buying two prints - one of the view from the cuckmere river towards the sea, and one of the cottage that we went into.
We then walked inland slightly to the barn that had been opened to the public for the first time and this had an art exhibition too, and there was a mobile cafe with tables and chairs looking out to sea, so we stopped and Alan had a coffee and I had a Magnum, it was really lovely.
We then set off on our walk back and we did 5 miles in total, then on the way home we called and the supermarket and then B&Q to pick up some more bags of pebbles to finish of a feature that Alan's made in the garden.
The rest of the evening was spent in the hot tub and the Palace, the perfect way to spend a bank holiday weekend. Hope you're all having a good one!
