Copper Snout Walk

A lovely couple we met in Japan have a holiday flat near here so today we took them up to Alwinton then did the Copper Snout walk. It was longer than we thought, according to my pedometer, 9 miles, but the ground was not hard rock so easy on my foot. Marion is super fit having done a 27 mile charity walk at Ullswater on Sunday.

They are such a nice couple who intend to retire up here. We had a great day, stopping on the way back at the Rose and Thistle in Alwinton, where we had to queue ages for a drink as there was a Newcastle bus Party in for tea and scones. Great that little pub up the valley is doing so well.

(This is a photo courtesy of Marion’s Phone and edited by me, as Mr C had been playing with my camera and had put it by mistake on a one second video blast which wasn’t discovered till we got back. He is trying to fix it. That Japanese camera is too clever by half)
