Soor Plooms

I resisted buying any of these from a little shop in Largs, but the soor plooms took me back to visiting my mum's cousin (?) auntie Betty as a wee girl. She and her mum lived high up in one of the famous Ravenscraig flats in Kirkcaldy, which dominate the skyline right across to Edinburgh on a clear day. It was an adventure to go up in the lift!  Auntie Betty had kidney problems and went to Edinburgh regularly for dialysis treatment. As a wee girl, I just remember she had huge jars of soor plooms to quench her thirst and we always got a few to take away with us.
Back to Barcelona for me tonight as we have guests arriving tomorrow.
