No takers!

Well I got some Halloween candy in ready for the visitors, as we normally get quite a few...but....no one turned up! I guess it just goes to prove how empty, our once full compound, has become. After all why live in a rather scruffy compound in the midst of a particularly "lively" area of daily tyre burning and nightly tear gas and explosions, as rents have fallen around the island and it is now possible to get a really nice villa somewhere quieter! So I supposes that is why we now have few children or anyone for that matter left on our compound! And so why are we still here? Well because the house was rented by my husband's employer, but if things get any worse we shall consider moving house....or countries! Really probably shouldn't have written this, might be too political!
