Diary of an Edinburgher

Pioneer spirit

Gym closed!

Half an hour on the bike ✔️

Archie did pop out for a piddle last night - into a foot of powdery snow, and came back in covered in snowballs. So he had to have a warm bath and blow dry before bed. He must have been desperate.

He had a run around on the roads again this morning. He gets so excited, charging off quite far, barking at everyone and everything. But it's really easy to spot his little deposit in the snow...

Annemique couldn’t go to work, but she walked here to take Archie out for a while.

JR, after a few yoga exercises on her new mat, got into pioneer mode - making bread, soup and getting the sewing machine out. Brilliant. It's no-knead bread and it's baked in the casserole dish. And it's delicious! Note the new knife, which is very very very sharp (as the tip of my thumb still remembers). I fiddled about with the light settings in the 'Portrait' mode on the iPhone, and, to be honest, didn’t see much difference. But I realised that you can do it after the event, which is easier. This is 'stage light'.

Rufus and his mum struggled up the road bearing a gift, with a request to keep an eye on her boiler while she's away. I'll do anything for a box of Licorice Allsorts! But I would have done it for nothing, of course.

Well, it hasn’t snowed all day, and the buses are running again. Perhaps we'll get back to normal over the weekend. Hope so.

We missed out on the dog friendly cinema event, it got booked up very quickly. But they've put on another show and we've booked! Should be interesting...
