The Adventures Of...
My Dear Fellows and Dear Princess Normal,
My eye was all of a sudden completely back to normal this morning. It was such a relief. I mean, it was nice having G-Man here last night and everything, but it made conversation difficult. For him too, I expect. It must be unnerving being stared at sideways, with someone cocking their head at you like a pigeon.
I'm not kidding. I was absent-mindedly favouring my good eye so much that I started getting a crick in my neck. I was a bit like Charles Laughton in "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" by the end of Saturday night.
Gosh, I paint a pretty picture, don't I?
So because I was feeling good today I decided to do NOTHING. Well, nearly nothing. I set myself the task of eating an entire packet of Toffee Pops*. That's about it.
And now that I've finished "Stranger Things 2" I decided to re-watch "The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe". I loved this show so much as a kid. Maybe just because of the theme. Is it going through your head?
I hope so. I love that music.
I suppose the thought went through my head that I am Robinson these days. Miles from home and on a distant South Pacific island. But that is not really how I feel, if I am honest. I think I lack the imagination for such fancy. And anyway most of the time I tend to forget that I'm not in the UK. I know it sounds a bit silly but bear in mind I lived around a Kiwi accent all the time in Scotland and things are just not that different here in my flat.
But every now and again I come crashing into a time zone difference when I text a friend. Or I hear the poo-poo-WAH-WAH-honk of the tui birds in the trees. Or I look out of the khazi window (see extras) and see huge eff off ferns.
And that is when the theme to Robinson Crusoe starts playing my head again, and I have the urge to fashion a shelter out of cushions and a duvet. And Jasper is my Man Friday.
