Oceanside looking towards Carlsbad
A relaxing day that took in the delights of the North Harbour at Oceanside. Walking along the side of the marina stuffed full of yachts some of which were huge. Called in at a fish and chip cafe on the harbour, was a little sceptical as to how good they might be, but they turned out to be very good indeed.
It's surprising how many ex-pats there are around here. As we were finishing lunch an older man was waiting to grab our table in the shade to eat an ice cream his wife was buying. Turned out he was from Bury and had moved here 50 years ago to work in the aerospace industry. They both loved it here.
After lunch we walked toward Oceanside Pier from where this blip was taken. Apparently, the beaches are much quieter at this time of year now that the main holiday season is over. What we forget is that generally, the weather is like this all year around. There is no close season when everything shuts up for the winter.
From Oceanside we drove over the Carlsbad again to do a bit of window shopping and looking which we were not able to do yesterday as the Farmers Market was going on. Before that we stopped by the cafe we went in yesterday and got talking to a couple on the next table, She was from Worksop in Derbyshire and he from Vancouver, they'd been living in this area since meeting 37 years ago.
Baby Landon is causing De'Shaun some discomfort as 23rd October approaches. These last few weeks seem to be dragging by for her, especially as it's hot and baby is moving and causing all sorts of aches and pains.
