Valldemossa & Soller
A lovely day trip out today, both places we've not visited before.
Coach picked us up and we had a guided tour through osme lovely countryside, as we headed towards the north coast, stopping off to visit a mansion and gardens, with fantastic views out over the sea.....a beautiful wedding venue!!
Then it was on to Valldemosa, a scenic and quite affluent town with a lovely church, bespoke shops and cafes. Our friends had coffee and cake, hub had icecream, I was a goody two shoes and didnt have anything ;-)
We drove on to Puerto Soller, where we had a traditional majorcan Pamboli for lunch, thats fresh bread, drizzled with olive oil, dressed with fresh tomatoes, sliced cheese and parma ham, with green olives, cornichons and pickles.....plus water and wine, oh, and a cornetto to finish :-) Then a little time to explore the port on foot before meeting back in the Square.
Our coach headed on back to Palma, whilst we took the renown Soller tram from the Port, through to the town centre, where we spent another hour looking around, before heading up to the little train station, where we boarded the tourist traditional train to take us the 45 minutes, through the mountains, including 13 tunnels, passing through just one village, to the outskirts of Palma, to reconnect with our coach and driver.
A thoroughly enjoyable day.
Ive added a couple of extras if you'd care to take a look.
