Day 2 on the train

Another early start on the train from Kamloops to Vancouver. The scenery changed dramatically giving more superb views. We were still on a single track but could see long freight trains on a track on the other side of the lake.
 
We saw evidence of previous forest fires and the regeneration of the ground cover.
 
The time on the train was very sociable. Breakfast and lunch were served on the lower deck and seating was allocated as you arrived down stairs. We met an English couple, then two young men from Switzerland, one of whom worked on Swiss Railway and both lunch times we were seated with a couple from Australia. We hit it off immediately, she is a midwife and does patchwork……need I say more!!
 
The end of the trip passed along the Frazer river through first class farm land and views of another form of freight transport travelling up river from the docks in Vancouver.
    
We checked into our hotel for two nights, then had a wander to stretch our legs. No need for supper, we are full…!!!!
